Success – A word that is often thrown around, but what does it mean to us as sports administrators?

Success could be watching the club captain holding up that silver trophy to the cheers of an enduring crowd of supporters. It may be a smiling parent that comes up to us at the end of a season to simply say, thank you.

As a sports administrator we are challenged by doing the best with what we have. One thing we all have in common is our desire to make a difference to our club members and know our involvement has made a better place.

The feeling of success arrives at that moment when we have reached those goals that we have set for ourselves. It is something that is in reach of us all.

How do we define our success without having a goal, a vision, the inspiration and desire to achieve? The answer is simple – we cannot.
